The Port Moresby Game Fishing Club is hosting the GFAPNG 32nd National Titles, to be held over the Easter period at the Royal Papua Yacht Club in 2007. Since it's beginnings in 1974, the GFAPNG National Titles Tournament has gone from strength to strength, each year drawing hundreds of anglers from PNG and overseas. In 2007 the Port Moresby Game Fishing Club endeavours to deliver to over 300 anglers, 9 action-packed days of the unique game fishing experience that has become synonymous with the GFAPNG National Titles. GFAPNG President's Message On behalf of the Game Fishing Association of PNG, we would like to welcome all anglers to the 2007 National Titles to be held in the waters off Port Moresby and hosted by the Port Moresby Game Fishing Club. I would remind all potential anglers that many of the sought after PNG all tackle records came from these waters, including Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Pacific Bluefin Tuna, Wahoo and Mako Shark. Some of these record have been set in the last two or three years so the big fish are still here. The event will be based at the magnificent Royal Papua Yacht Club’s marina and clubhouse with some functions held at the PMGFC’s clubhouse also on the marina. PMGFC deployed six FADs in December 2006, all easily accessible from the Harbour, and which should be firing by the time the Titles come around. We invite all anglers to participate in this great Tournament which will be fished under the new line class fish rule for the first time.
