Firstly, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to anyone who would like to visit Rabaul and experience our great fishing grounds over the nine days of Competition during the National Titles. All indications are that this is going to be a very big event with a large number of sponsors already signed on for the event and we anticipate a good turnout of anglers.

Rest assured that the organization of the event is well under way and that The Committee and members of the New Britain Game Fishing Club and the Rabaul Yacht Club will offer whatever assistance needed to make sure you are looked after.

Visiting Boats by Water

For visiting boats coming by water, the Titles rules allow “fishing in” on the first day providing you have pre-registered your intent to do so. This means you may commence fishing, on your first day, as soon as you enter NBGFC waters. All other rules still apply including lines-in and lines-out times and deadlines for weighing-in.

Visiting Boats by Consort

As a Naming Sponsor of the Tournament, Consort Express Lines has offered to ship boats domestically, to Rabaul and back, free of charge. Boats are expected to be shipped end of February and early March. Consort will advise the intended shipping schedules in due course but we would appreciate if you could indicate your intention to ship as early as possible so we have some prior knowledge of how many boats to accommodate.

Moorings

Quite a large number of the bigger boats like to make the 2-5 day adventure along the coast of New Britain and enjoy the fishing on the way. If you are planning to bring a boat across please let us know early so we can allocate a mooring to you now - that way if the demand is such we will have time to add some more.

Fuel Station

A fuel station will be set up at the InterOil jetty (Lat and Long will be provided by NBGFC as per your boat arrival).

Coca Cola Shootout

Coca Cola will be supporting the Marlin Shootout on Wednesday 04^th April 2012. The entry will be K1,000 per boat and we are looking forward to a great day on the water.

Accommodation

Attached below is a list of accommodation available around Rabaul and Kokopo and we encourage you to get in early. Of course many will opt to sleep on their boats or on the bar floor.
